council tax means summons
I have just received a means enquiry summons.
This is for unpaid council tax dating back to 2011.
I have been paying what I can afford when I can afford it as my circumstances have generally been very tight. When I have discussed this with them over the phone they have always insisted that the amount I was offering was not enough and they would not accept it however they have never turned down any of the payments I have continued to make online.
Any ideas anyone?

I recommend you dont send anything back to them re income details etc . Tell them you are worried re data protection issues !!
More people need to withhold tax until they sort the mess this country is in.
They have just "updated" the local library computers to the extent that no one can log on now !!
The librarians are restricted in what they can do more than ever. Its the new world order at large and we all need to fight back !!
You are not alone re the council tax issue. Many people on varying incomes struggle. In Chatham Kent the council are spending 135k (yes 135k ) on a decorative japanese garden for the emotional wellbeing of the inhabitants (unemployment high) !!
The garden will probably be next to the local foodbank.

Thank you claire I do have someone dealing with this for me which I'm hoping will work
the summons was for today and i was advised not to go I'm hoping the strategy will work and they wont just put me away !
Our local council are equally wastefull and the services are rubbish

It might add that a friend of mine did an FOI request and found they are making 700k per year profit on the so called liabilty orders for council tax arrears

Did you manage to sort out the council tax issue ? You need to speak to El Spaniardo at white rabbit education trust as he can help.
Im asking him to help me with similar issues although the council claim to have such powers !!
Im making a donation to white rabbit and also to this site as sadly money still counts for so much and I feel that we now need to raise more awareness of the KFM and white rabbit.
I have just received a settlement offer from Natwest and Santander re money I owe them and I guess its just because they know that financial Armageddon is upon us now and people have stopped paying them so their coffers may be drying up !! The billions are disappearing !!

I've attended some of Simons learning days and yes I may still contact him I've had to make an offer to pay to pay over a period of time otherwise I was facing prison which I can't afford to be in at the moment some when i can howver i haven't given up the battle yet I'm just waiting till I'm in a better position they really are criminal in their actions. Re banks I am not paying a penny on these they cannot proove they loaned anything so can go jump!!
